Introduction to Prompt Engineering and GenAI Tools to Support Literature Reviews – Dec. 10, 2024

Session Description

December 10 2024 @ 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm

The Centre for Research & Innovation Support (CRIS), in collaboration with the Centre for Teaching Support & Innovation and University of Toronto Libraries, is hosting a hands-on workshop that aims to equip researchers with essential knowledge and skills for using Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) in their work. Participants will learn to craft effective prompts and will explore the application of GenAI for common literature review tasks through practical demonstrations using Microsoft Copilot, ResearchRabbit, and Elicit. Overall, this session will position GenAI as a supportive tool to enhance scholarly work rather than a replacement for expertise and critical thinking.

Intended audience:

  • Faculty researchers and their teams from any discipline
